Should Schools Be Exempt from Corporate Sponsorship

Submitted by admin on January 12, 2009 – 12:49 pmNo Comment

I don’t think this is a new question, but is it still relevant?  If you are part of the public school system (I’m including Universities here), you will have some idea what I’m talking about.  Schools are so desperate for funding, the governement is cutting back, isn’t this a match made in heaven?

Corporate invovlement in education is not new - I remember way, way back in the olden days, we recieved book covers, colourful paper covers we could apply over our elementary and personal books, that had a place to put our name on the front - among the interesting images, was the prominent logo of a dairy company.

This isn’t a new relationship, but certainly one that isn’t going to go away.  And I’m not entirely sure it should!
